She is equal parts agricultural and data scientist as a former research scientist in precision agriculture and weed ecology. She wants to generate as much insight, if not more, from applying machine learning to observations from “real” fields than from her over 20 years of field research for the USDA-Agricultural Research Service.
Lori’s work for private ag companies includes modeling the influence of weather on pests and crops and analytics for decision support, resulting in commercial software and two patents.
Tim Welle, MBA
Tim is the business lead for DXD Ag Insights.
He has a deep background in agriculture, starting out his life on a central Minnesota dairy farm. That agriculture background led him into the renewable fuels and renewable materials industry, before landing in Ag technology.
For nearly a decade, Tim worked as the Director of Operations at FieldX, helping agronomists collect and manage agricultural data efficiently.
He holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota and an undergraduate degree in Business Economics from the University of St. Thomas, in St. Paul, MN.

Ed is the Chief Data Officer for RootMetrics at IHS Markit.
